Five oil palm plantation, industries production worth Rp953.2 billion



Jakarta (ANTARA News) -- The Capital Investment Coordinating Agency (BKPM) said five companies which in the January-February 2010 period have made an investment in oil palm plantations and palm oil industry are ready for production worth Rp953.2 billion.
Head of BKPM Gita Irawan Wirjawan disclosed in Jakarta Monday that the companies consisted of four domestic investors and a foreign investor.

"The five companies located in three provinces are set to start commercial production worth a total of Rp953.2 billion," he said.

He added that the three provinces are East Kalimantan for a foreign investment in the oil palm sector worth Rp530 billion, Lampung two domestic investment in palm oil processing industry worth Rp56 billion and Rp48 billion.

Jambi for domestic investment in oil palm estates worth Rp215.52 billion, and oil palm processing industry worth Rp103.69 billion.

In the meantime, Gita said, in the January-February 2010 period only one company was interested in investment in the palm oil industry worth Rp98.5 billion with BKPM approval dated February 8, 2010.
